Gomoku: Five Stones in a Row is a strategic board game designed for two participants. On a square grid measuring 19×19 (in the classic version) or 15×15 (in the contemporary sports variation) points, players take turns placing stones of two distinct hues. The victor is the one who first creates an uninterrupted line of five stones of their color either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. It offers numerous variations that differ in specific rule aspects. The game is thought to have originated in China over two millennia ago. Presently, the game enjoys global recognition; competitive events are organized around it.
